With it being 30 days until the end of the year, getting into a healthy routine starting now through the Christmas holiday and BEFORE the clock strikes midnight on December 31, is a smart idea.
You see, I know it’s tempting to wait until January 1, 2020, to start your healthy routine. I get it. We all love mile markers – a solid starting point where we say that we will get in gear and kick start whatever we’re trying to kick start.
The only problem with that is that like most people, you’ve probably said that a least a thousand times before throughout your life. The best approach is to be like Nike and just do it. Yes, getting started RIGHT NOW is the best thing for you, me, and anyone else who wants to improve their overall health.
And one of the best ways to do so is with cardiovascular activity, like jogging. Personally, I love to run outdoors. I’m able to smell the fresh air, see sights that I’ve never seen…and even say hello to people I’ve never seen before on the route that I normally run.
But in addition to that, it turns out that going for a brisk run has several benefits.
One of my favorite benefits is that running helps to get rid of belly fat. If you ever have a question about how healthy you are, just give yourself a good ole gut check. The larger your stomach, the more unhealthy you are; the smaller your midsection is, the healthier you are.
As a matter of fact, studies show that moderate-to-high aerobic exercise like running or jogging can reduce belly fat EVEN IF you don’t change a thing about your diet.
But of course, changing your diet a bit like switching from eating fried food to baked food, will have a positive effect on your overall health with lower blood pressure and lower cholesterol over time.
You see running has a tremendous effect on your cardiovascular health. Cardiovascular health is important because it has a direct effect on your heart health. Heart disease is the number one cause of death for men and women, claiming more than 1 million lives a year.
The average person’s heart will beat at least 2.5 billion times during their lifetime, so running and getting active will help ensure that one of your most important organs is healthy.
I can’t tell you how many times I have seen Christians and the people I love struggling to walk around and function due to a lack of stamina, which is related to poor cardiovascular health.
So on today, I am encouraging you to start your healthy routine TODAY and don’t wait until January 1, 2020 to make a commitment about your health. The decision you make today just may save your life.
